"Person of Interest" will soon air its farewell episode, and fans can expect the science fiction crime series to end with a bang. Aside from all the action, fans should keep the tissue box close by as there are also emotional scenes coming their way. the official synopsis for "return 0" reads:

"Finch, Reese, Fusco and Shaw embark on one last mission to prevent Samaritan from destroying The Machine and cementing its hold over mankind."

"You know, it's a bloodbath. As usual," co-showrunner Jonah Nolan told TV Line, stressing  that the finale will be able to wrap up "five glorious seasons." He further explained his statement, saying: "There have been points along the way where we've adapted, changed course, incorporated new things — Shaw was a character that we hadn't fully conceived of when we started the show — but this is the end that we always talked about, the end that's indicated in the pilot," wherein Finch went on to warn Reese, "If we keep doing this, we're not going to make it."

CBS previously announced that the series will end after season 5 allegedly due to a significant dip in ratings. TV Guide notes that as of now, with one last episode to air, it is difficult to tell which way the storyline goes. If one thing is for certain, the show still needs to resolve the complications in the relationship between Finch and Reese. At some point, it was the center of the whole story so giving fans some sort of closure would make perfect sense. Promos for the finale seem to address that, but will one episode be enough to cap everything?

Find out in the final episode of "Person of Interest" season 5 which airs this coming June 21, Tuesday at 10 p.m. EST on CBS.
