'Person of Interest' news: Final season premieres on May 3

Allegedly due to the low ratings for "Person of Interest," CBS has decided to cancel the show, just hours after announcing the May 3, 2016, premiere date of season 5.
In a press statement via IGN, executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman expressed their gratitude for the fans who patronized the show.
"We're extremely excited to be able share this final season with the fans. We're eternally grateful to our amazing cast and crew, as well as our partners at the studio and network. Most of all, we want to thank the show's fans — the best fans in the world. This subversive little paranoia-inducing cyberpunk-thriller is for you and would not have been possible without your support. As life has come to imitate Person of Interest, it's been our great privilege to work on show for the past five seasons. We can't wait for you to experience this thrilling and final chapter."
Reports say that the show cannot find a network to continue the production given the high cost involved, apart from the idea that the show is indeed struggling to have a high percentage of viewership.
Furthermore, a thought-to-be-dead character will return to the show for season 5. Actress Sarah Shahi will return to the drama, reprising her role as Sameen Shaw. The reason for her departure is her pregnancy in real life, which kept her from strenuous activities and high-risk stunts. In the previous season, her tenure on the show concluded with a cliffhanger. Her last scene showed a gun pointed to her head, with a gunshot heard later. However, by some turn of events, she is not dead after all.
American sci-fi crime drama series "Person of Interest" is created by Jonathan Nolan who is also the producer, along with J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, and Greg Plageman. The story revolves around (Jim Caviezel), an ex-CIA agent who was presumed to be dead.
