'Penny Dreadful' season 3 spoilers: Will Dr. Sweet's alter ego be exposed? Ethan and Vanessa to reunite?

"Penny Dreadful" season 3 is getting the attention it deserves, but viewers are wondering whether Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) and Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) will ever find their way back to each other.

Well, as Movie News Guide shared, it looks like the much-awaited reunion of Ethan and Vanessa will finally happen in episode 7 titled "Ebb Tide."

In the said episode, Vanessa will meet up with Dr. Lyle (Simon Russell Beale), who is leaving for a trip to Egypt. Dr. Lyle will tell Vanessa about Catriona Hartdegen (Perdita Weeks), a thanatologist, who just might become Vanessa's new friend.

Vanessa will also have a heart-to-heart talk with Dr. Seward (Patti LuPone), who will advise her to make her relationship with Dr. Sweet (Christian Camargo) deeper. However, if Showtime's synopsis for the upcoming episode is any indication, it looks like Vanessa will come face-to-face with a startling revelation. Could it perhaps be linked to the real identity of Dr. Sweet, whom viewers already know is actually Dracula?

Meanwhile, Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney), who's concern about Lily's (Billie Piper) current state is growing, would be relieved to find Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) arriving to kidnap her. Frankenstein might have just perfected a serum that could help bring Lily back to her original state.

However, things would go awry, and Justine (Jessica Barden), alongside their fellow members, would try to kill Frankenstein. Lily will not let this happen, and instead, she would convince them that they could use the doctor for other purposes.

On another note, a promo teaser for "Penny Dreadful" season 3 clues viewers in on the highly anticipated reunion of Vanessa and Ethan. In the video, Kaetenay (Wes Studi) was telling Ethan how he thinks the latter's battle with hell is not over yet. Nevertheless, Ethan seemed to have other things in mind, as he poured his heart out about someone close to his heart.

"A woman offered me her heart, a woman I love, and I walked away. I have to try and make it right," Ethan said in the teaser.

"Penny Dreadful" season 3 episode 7 will air on Sunday, June 12 at 10 p.m. on Showtime.
