With the race among smartwatches in the market becoming tighter, the Samsung Gear Live continues to gain popularity. Pebble Steel, on the other hand, has managed to attract a loyal customer base due to the watch's sleek design.

Design

The Pebble Steel has lovely design and appears like a normal watch with its rectangular body crafted from stainless steel. It is available in two colors – silver and black. The smartwatch also has a great-looking watch strap made from steel, which is available in addition to the standard leather version included in the device. As for the Gear Live, it also has a rectangular watch face made from stainless steel. It has a smooth modern finish and comes in two colors: black and red. The Gear Live comes with a strap made from red or black rubber. The strap can be replaced with any standard 22mm strap. However, the strap on the Pebble Steel cannot be replaced. As for the dust and water resistance qualities of the Gear Live, it has an IP67 rating while the Pebble Steel has a better 5 atmosphere rating.

Display

The display on the Gear Live is a better and bigger super AMOLED touchscreen measuring 1.63 inches with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and a density of 278 pixels per inch. As for the Pebble Steel, it has a black and white e-paper display measuring 1.26 inches with a resolution of 144 × 168 pixels and a density of 176 pixels per inch.

Specs

On the Pebble Steel is a 120 MHz processor with 1MB of internal storage while the Gear Live has a 1.2 GHz processor, 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The Pebble Steel can be used with both iOS and Android devices while the Gear Live can only be paired with devices running the Android operating system.

Sensors

The Pebble Steel has an accelerometer, compass and light sensor. However, it lacks a gyroscope and heart rate sensor which are present on the Gear Live.

Price

The Gear Live and the Pebble Steal is both priced at $199.
