'Peaky Blinders' season 4 spoilers, plot news: Cillian Murphy speaks on Tommy's betrayal, Aunt Polly's son Michael to replace Tommy as mob boss?
The third season of BBC Two's famed historical drama "Peaky Blinders" left off with a cliffhanger featuring Shelby family members behind bars. Fans can't believe that Tommy (Cillian Murphy) betrayed his family, but the clan should realize that the mob leader has a bigger plan for all of them.

"Everything has changed," Murphy explained about the shocking season 3 finale. "I think his family thinks that he's betrayed them. It'll be up to Tommy to demonstrate to them that he hasn't betrayed them and that he has a bigger plan. The question is what that bigger plan is. Who is he gonna call? What's gonna happen to the family? Can he ever get that level of trust or love back again?"
The plot for the fourth season is still under wraps, but rumor has it that a new key player will emerge: Michael (Finn Cole), Aunt Polly's son. From being an ordinary accountant, the long-lost Shelby cousin turned into a full-fledged gangster. Now that he has already killed two people, there is a possibility that he has developed a taste for blood. According to series writer Michael Hogan, the young character appears "increasingly self-assured" and his goals "could soon prove troublesome to Tommy." Fans even likened him to the notorious Michael Corleone from the cult-classic "The Godfather." Both are simple citizens trying to make something out of themselves by engaging in legitimate businesses before being sucked in to their family's illegal affairs.
In an interview, Murphy mentioned about his other roles for the critically-acclaimed series. Aside from being the lead actor and an executive producer, the actor also gets to pick some soundtracks for the show. "Yeah, I've been part of the show for a long time now — it's three or four years, and I'm an executive producer credit on it this year," he told Spin. "You actually become involved in something [when] it takes up half of your year, every year. I'm very close with Steven Knight, the creator, and I'm very close with Caryn Mandabach, the producer. So inevitably it becomes like a collective, collaborative effort."
"Peaky Blinders" season 4 is expected to premiere sometime in 2017.
