Pakistani Christians protest in front of Thailand Embassy

A large number of Pakistani Christians gathered in front of the Embassy of Royal Kingdom of Thailand, calling for justice for asylum seekers.
Demonstrators carried out banners and placards with the message 'we demand justice' and voiced out the woes and cries of Pakistani Christian refugees beign detained by the Thai Government and Thai Law Enforcement Agencies, Pakistan Christian Post reported.
Calls were made for speedy resolution of their cases and the handling of court proceedings without keeping them locked up with all basic necessities, particularly for the vulnerable or sick.
Speakers of the protest highlighted the difficulties and struggles of the Christian refugees, who fled their homes out of fear for their lives. They condemned crimes against humanity and called for their fellow countrymen to give the protection, respect and real justice the asylum seekers deserve.
Pakistan ranks 6th on the 2016 Open Doors World Watch List countries; a list of countries where Christians face the most persecution. Last year, the severity of persecution towards Pakistani Christians rose to its highest point. Just last month, the Morning Star News reported police in Pakistan tortured and beat a Christian to death in Punjab Province after the victim's employer accused him of theft because of his faith.
The extrajudicial killings of Pakistani Christians continue to thrive even in Thailand. Demonstrators claim they will continue to protest against such injustice if no serious action is taken to attackers accountable.
