Pa. Man Charged in Pastor's Death Says He 'Kills Demons'
A Pennsylvania man has been charged with first degree murder after he allegedly strangled a Maryland pastor to death, claiming the victim was possessed by demons.
Police say the incident happened Wednesday morning in Germantown, Pennsylvania, when they responded to a disturbance call. Montgomery County officers reportedly found 38-year-old Roland Zinneh pacing back and forth and 57-year-old Pastor Connery Dagadu unresponsive in Zinneh's basement.
According to a press release by local police, Zinneh reportedly yelled at officers that there were "Demons" and that "[he kills] demons!" The 38-year-old suspect reportedly prevented officers from entering his residence and assisting Dagadu.
According to arrest records, Zinneh later told police that he "killed many witches," adding "I do that. I killed them."
Police later learned that Dagadu had been called to Zinneh's residence the night before to pray over ZInneh because he was hearing voices. The men then reportedly got into an altercation in the early hours of the morning, and it has been determined that the pastor died from asphyxiation.
The suspect's fiancé, Queenella Wisner, told The Washington Post that she was shocked to learn her husband-to-be could be involved in a homicidal crime, saying that he usually goes to church and takes care of his family.
"He doesn't have very many friends," his fiancé told the media outlet in an interview on Friday. "He just goes to church and takes care of his family."
The couple was reportedly planning to marry in August.
"I don't know where this is coming from," the fiancé added.
