'Outlander' season 3 spoilers, plot news: Sam Heughan teases 'completely different show' next season, series filming in Boston?
Production for the third season of "Outlander" is already in its early stages, and there are speculations that the series could be filming in Boston.

A recent exhange of tweets between production designer Jon Gary Steele and actor Tobias Menzies had fans wondering if the show will shoot scenes in the capital of Massachusetts. Steele first posted a photo of what looks to be an apartment set under construction with the caption: "#outlanderfans Just a tease for Season 3, wish I could show you more." Through the same social media platform, Menzies playfully asked Steele how Boston was coming.
Additionally, Steele shared images of fabric swatches reflecting the style during the '60s which may be connected to the new Boston set. A series of photos featuring the interiors of an abandoned building can also be seen in his Twitter profile.
The heart-wrenching season 2 finale saw Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitriona Balfe) parting ways for good. However, it was later revealed that they will see each other again after a 20-year time jump. Heughan recently spoke to Vulture where he shared teasers on what lies ahead for the star-crossed lovers. "It's going to be a completely different show," he said. "Next year's stuff is probably the most interesting, in a way. We've been setting it up, setting the stage, introducing these characters, and now it goes into new, different worlds."
Years after being torn apart by war, the two worlds will collide as they find themselves back in each other's lives. A lot of things have changed since they separated which means fans should look forward to how Jaime and Claire's dynamic will evolve as the story progresses.
"Voyager," the third book in Diana Gabaldon's book series, will be the source material for the upcoming season.
"Outlander" season 3 is expected to premiere 2017 on Starz, but the network has yet to announce an official release date.
