'Outlander' season 3 news, spoilers, updates: Plot to dive into Claire and Frank's married life; Diana Gabaldon talks end for book series

Viewers will see more of Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) present-day husband Frank (Tobias Menzies) when "Outlander" season 3 returns next year.
Even though Claire's life with her first husband was not deeply explored in the book version of the show, the upcoming season will surely dive into Claire and Frank's life as a married couple after her unexpected return from Culloden.
Speaking with TV Guide, author Diana Gabaldon assured fans that the season 3 storyline kept true to the novel despite the series writers' decision to expand the ending. "They've expanded that end of the story a little bit, but they've done it well, very consistently," said Gabaldon, who has seen the third season's first four episodes.
The "Outlander" series still has a few seasons to go before it officially ends, but Gabaldon already knows when the book series wraps up. During a Q&A panel at Entertainment Weekly's PopFest, the award-winning novelist revealed that the Scottish time travel saga will most likely end on the 10th book. She is currently working on Book nine which is titled "Go Tell The Bees That I Am Coming," so fans need not worry about the story's conclusion to be revealed anytime soon
Although the end of "Outlander" is not something fans are excited to see, Gabaldon promised that the conclusion will resolve one of the biggest mysteries in the series.
Back in the opening episode, Frank saw Jamie (Sam Heughan) watching Claire through the window of their inn located in Scotland. The audience never found out how he was able to do that, considering Claire travels through giant stones. When a fan asked about the strange event, Gabaldon said the last book will shed light on it.
"It'll be the very last thing in the last book, which I think is probably book 10," she revealed.
"Outlander" season 3 is expected to premiere early 2017 on Starz.
