'Outlander' season 3 news, air date, spoilers: Caitriona Balfe hints more steamy scenes, Cast members head to NYC for fan event on June 3

Viewers can expect more steamy scenes in "Outlander" when the show's third season premieres next year.
Fans are still reeling from the emotional season 2 finale of the hit time-travel drama, and it will be a long wait before star-crossed lovers Claire and Jamie Fraser return to the small screen for season 3. Thankfully, lead actress Caitriona Balfe shared interesting teasers on what's next for the series to help loyal viewers get through yet another "droughtlander."
In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, the actress shared her thoughts on how season 3 will be a big leap for her character. Now that she has come back to her present time, she will be playing mother to Brianna (portrayed by 22-year-old Sophie Skelton).
With her new status, Balfe explained that motherhood will change Claire and her perspective in life. Although the new season will see Claire put her sexual and romantic self away, it doesn't necessarily mean that there will be no intimate scenes in season 3. "There will be some other sex going on," she said. "I think to really let the reunion and everything that's going to happen once Jamie and Claire see each other, I think it's really special. Maybe they'll have to wait a little bit, but I don't think it's going to be as scarce as last season, shall we say?
Meanwhile, some cast members of the Starz drama will soon head to New York for a fan event. Scheduled on June 3, the event called "Outlander in the City" will take place at St.Andrews, a popular Scottish bar near Times Square. According to reports, the upcoming fan event will have a "casual dinner-style" ambiance. Attendees can mingle with the show's actors while they enjoy Scottish buffet dinner. A single ticket costs $375, and the proceeds will go to each of the actors' chosen charity.
The third season of "Outlander" premieres April 2017 on Starz.
