'Outlander' season 2 spoilers, plot news: What lies ahead for Claire and her unborn baby? Writer teases plot twists fans would not expect

Historical time travel drama "Outlander" only has a few weeks left before season 2 comes to a close, and viewers will see more plot twists in the upcoming episodes.

In last Saturday's episode, Jaime finally revealed the truth about Claire's past to Murtagh. Meanwhile, Claire used her knowledge in medicine to treat St. Germain's men since they appear to be suffering from smallpox. Jamie and Murtagh stole the wine shipment from Cole, and Jaime came face to face with Randall. Claire arrives exactly when the two men are dueling to the death, and Jamie was able to stab Randall.Gendarmes quickly enter the scene to arrest them, and the episode ends with a pregnant Claire collapsing and bleeding.

Claire and her child's life may be in danger, but it surely won't be the only problem she will face in the next episode. King Louis will also seek her help in his pursuit of the people who practice the dark arts. The official synopsis for next week's episode titled "Faith" reads:

"Claire is brought to L'Hopital Des Anges where doctors try to save her life and that of her unborn baby. King Louis asks Claire to judge two men accused of practicing the dark arts â€“ one an enemy, one a friend."

Matt Roberts, who wrote last Saturday's emotional and tense episode teased about what fans should anticipate in the next episode."The next episode starts with Claire in a fog, in a dream state," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "She'll go to the hospital and we'll discover what happened with her baby. It's such an emotional journey for both Claire and the fans as well. There's a lot that will take things to a new place for the fans, even the ones who have read the books. We've been trying to do things just a little bit differently from the books in each episode even though the main, expected events still happen so there's an element of surprise for everyone."
