'Orphan Black' season 5 spoilers, plot news: Mystery behind PT Westmoreland's return to be explored, series creator hints more presence for Krystal next season

Hit science fiction drama "Orphan Black" is all set for its fifth and final season which premieres next year, and fans are looking forward to seeing the fate of Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) and her clone sisters.
PT Westmoreland's return in the season 4 finale came as a shock to everyone since he was presumed to be dead for a long time. According to series co-creator Graeme Manson, the mystery behind his unexpected comeback will be explored further in the next season. "Apparently, the man never died," Manson told Entertainment Weekly, referring to the character who built Neolution in the 1800s. "It's been a long crawl and climb for Sarah and all the clones, Rachel included, to get to the top of the pyramid. And now Rachel is looking at the eye – or through the eye, perhaps. Obviously this is going to be a large part of our mystery for next year."
Krystal easily became one of the audience favorites in the show because of her fun personality. She is still in the dark when it comes to her true identity, making her arc quite intriguing for viewers. Manson says that Krystal will have more presence in season 5 as she tries to unravel her origins.
Back in April 2015, series co-creator John Fawcett already confirmed that season 5 will mark the end of the series. However, if fans would still like to see more of the story, he expressed his interest over the possibility of a spin-off. "I think we want to wrap this story up by the end of season five," Fawcett told E! News. "And then if there are still a lot of fans and a lot of desire to see this show after that, I think there would be some reinvention necessary or some kind of new spin."
"Orphan Black" season 5 is expected to premiere next year on BBC America.
