Science-fiction TV series "Orphan Black" season 4 premiere aired last Thursday, and the pilot seemed to be a game-changer for the whole show.

The season's first episode "The Collapse of Nature" spun the show's hour hand around as it had flashbacks featuring the time when Beth Childs (Tatiana Maslany) was still living. Viewers were given a chance to see previous events that transpired which led Beth to take her precious life.

Co-creators Graeme Manson and John Fawcett recently caught up with TVLine where they exclusively shared details on season 4 and what fans should look forward to. Manson mentioned that the season's plot going backwards could not have come at a better time. "It was an early idea. We always felt that we left a lot of answers on the [train] tracks, and that someday we would figure out a way to loop back into Beth. We set the table a little bit in Season 3, Episode 6, where Sarah had an otherworldly dreamlike encounter with Beth, which we really liked. Then it just occurred to us that in a season where we really wanted to go back to the beginning...that now is the time to do it," he said.

Meanwhile, Beth met a Leda clone named M.K. who she will be working with. The two will try to discover more about their real identity, and figure out if there is ever a cure. According to Manson, M. K. will affect the plot as the show moves forward. "M.K. is Sarah's engine this year that she can turn to, and that's not easy. You don't just turn to M.K. and get an answer. She's a skittish character and hard to work with and hard to get answers from. But she is Sarah's one window [into] some of the big questions that appear at the beginning of the season," the creator said. Fawcett further explained that M. K.'s character is a window because she knew Beth, and that getting information is one of her main skills. "She's a hacker, she's got skills, and she's very resourceful and good at getting information. She was Beth's informant," Fawcett said.

The next "Orphan Black" episode titled "Transgressive Border Crossing" airs April 21 10 p.m. ET on BBC America.
