A lot of things can be expected by the fans of the popular Netflix original series "Orange is the New Black" in the upcoming fourth season. As described by the Polygon website, season 4 is expected to become one of the most intense (if not the most thrilling) chapter in the entire "Orange is the New Black" history. Viewers will see its return to Netflix on June 17.

There were a lot of events that happened in the lives of the inmates in season 3 which include the inmates trying to escape the Litchfield Penitentiary but only to have a "relaxing" swim in a ravine near the prison. Even before these events, there were a lot of ominous things that happened within the walls of the penitentiary. There was Sophia Burset (played by Laverne Cox) being tortured by other mean inmates in the prison, Tiffany "Pennsatucky" Doggett (played by Taryn Manning) being left alone to deal with a mischievous person capable of sexual assault, and Piper Chapman (played by Taylor Schilling) having to cope up with yet another failed relationship that rendered her disturbed in many occasions of the previous season.

Season 5 is expected to look at the repercussions of all the good and bad things that happened to the inmates in Season 4, but as the faithful followers of "Orange is the New Black" have always seen in this show, there will be usual comedic but quite unnecessary comedic side stories to be injected somewhere along the story just to keep the drama in good pace. One of these throw-in's would be the fallout of Norma's cult.

"Orange is the New Black" writer and executive producer Jenji Kohan is reported to have more twist and turns reserved for the Litchfield inmates, beginning with a new batch of prisoners that the long-time inmates have to go with, to the less-skilled prison guards who always keep the inmates in-check and behind bars. Also, the issue of overpopulation in the Litchfield Penitentiary will cause a stir in the show, resulting to both racial and economic tensions among the characters.
