Orange is the New Black Season 3 Release Date Spoilers: Laura Prepon to be Cast Regular in New Season

In a recent Interview, Laura Prepon revealed that her character in the hit series Orange is the New Black will be back as a regular of Season 3. She blamed her schedule for the lack appearances in the last season. She appeared in four episodes when she originally signed for only one.

Apparently, fans loved Prepon's character. She played the role of Alex Vause, Piper's former lover who asked the protagonist to smuggle drugs. As a result, Piper landed in jail.

Prepon confirmed that she will be returning to Orange is the New Black as a regular cast by breaking out the news on her Instagram.

Netflix then backed her up and confirmed officially that she will indeed be returning to the series as a regular and will be appearing in all 13 episodes of the series. Another cast, Dascha Polano (who played the role of Daya) will also be appearing as a series regular.

Several other characters, including Mary Steenburgen, will be appearing in the series as well. On her Steenburg's Twitter account last June 12, she tweeted, "Very excited to go to my first wardrobe fitting of OITNB! Will I be in orange or black? :)"

Mary Steenburgen appeared in Elf, The Help and Step Brothers. She has played the role of a mother in many movies and TV series, and she will be playing the role of a mother yet again in the third season of Orange is the New Black.

The show made an edge when it started catching the attention of a larger audience because of Daytime Emmy Awards, bagging an award for Taylor Schilling (who plays the role of Piper Chapman) as Best Actress.

The series is now considered as the most watched show on Netflix, exceeding the ratings of the much-loved House of Cards.
