OnePlus 3 news: Company cofounder confirms 2nd quarter release

Chinese smartphone company OnePlus has yet to announce the exact release date of another high-end smartphone, but leaked photos and rumors lead consumers to believe that the arrival of the OnePlus 3 is definitely underway.
One clue that the OnePlus 3 will be arriving soon is the announcement of a permanent price cut for OnePlus 2 (16GB and 64GB variants) in India, according to NDTV. The OnePlus 2 16 GB model initially arrived in India for Rs. 22,999, while the 64 GB was then valued at Rs. 24,999. Currently, OnePlus consumers there will enjoy a Rs. 2,000 price cut. The smartphone manufacturer discussed that its operations recently went up, hence making it more flexible in terms of prices.
As for the hardware specs, the OnePlus 3 is speculated to be armed with a Snapdragon 820. It will have two variants: one with 4 GB of RAM plus 16 GB of internal storage and one with 5 GB of RAM plus 64 GB of storage. With a 5.5-inch crisp 1080p full HD display, OnePlus' latest device will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box and sport a 20MP rear camera at the same time. Moreover, it has a USB Type-C port, a dedicated camera button and an alert slider.
The OnePlus 3 is expected to be commercially available before July 2016, and it will cost approximately £220-250.
Just recently, OnePlus cofounder Carl Pei disclosed that the OnePlus 3 is set to be released in the second quarter of this year. Without divulging any specific detail about the anticipated OnePlus 2 successor, Pei only mentioned of how it will captivate the interest of consumers. He also hinted of a "new design" that the people should definitely look forward to, CNET reports.
Since its 2014 debut, OnePlus has earned its way in the ranks of well-known tech companies, and Pei hopes to widen the company's market in the years to come.
