OnePlus 3 mini release date, specs news 2016: No mini version for flagship smartphone?

Following the successful release of OnePlus 3, several rumors have emerged all over the internet suggesting that the company is preparing to launch a mini version of the device. The report captured the interest of tech observers after a GFXBench result was suddenly spotted showing its impressive specs and features.

According to a report by Phone Arena, the benchmarking website showed that the rumored OnePlus 3 mini will carry a 4.6-inch screen with 1080x1920 pixels or full-HD display. It will also run on a Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm paired with an advanced GPU chip, the Adreno 530. The powerful processor will run with a whopping 6 GB of RAM along with its 64 GB internal storage capacity.

Right after the benchmark rumor caught the attention of the fans, OnePlus cofounder, Carl Pei took to Twitter to shut down the rumor by simply saying "NO," which is followed by the hashtag, "#rumorshutdown."

As of the moment, the company is concentrating on its current flagship smartphone, OnePlus 3, which has given the company a huge commercial success.

"We were confident in the OnePlus 3 when it launched, but sales in mainland Europe have been way better than what we expected, Pei said on the company's blog. Therefore, we've decided to temporarily pause sales in some countries in order to give inventory time to replenish."

He continued, "We are working hard to secure more stock and fire up more production lines so that we can fulfill our goal of putting premium products into the hands of as many people as possible. With this note I wanted to give customers in affected regions enough advance notice to be able to purchase a OnePlus 3. If you're planning to purchase but can't do it before we pause sales, we'll be offering an in-stock notification service where you can sign up with your email address to be notified when we're back in stock."

OnePlus 3 has definitely done pretty well in the market today, giving all the top-tier smartphones from other manufacturers a run for their money.
