'One Punch Man' Season 2 release date, news, updates: Recent tweet suggests late 2016 premiere?

Fans have been waiting for new updates about the development of the much-anticipated second season of "One Punch Man." Information has been scarce and there is no confirmed release date for the world hit anime series' return. However, there is no stopping the fans from getting the details themselves. Just recently, many fans on Twitter saw a tweet that would suggest that "One Punch Man" Season 2 will be aired later this year.
As reported by Yibada, the rumor that "One Punch Man" will return for Season 2 at the end of 2016 began when a Twitter user named "One Punch Man" (@_OnePunchMan) posted an update where he revealed that Toonami will be showing "One Punch Man" later this year.
"One Punch Man no doubt will come to Toonami. Probably by the end of the year," the tweet stated.
Toonami is a big cartoon TV series distributor in the US and its animated programming block is focused on action-related programs hailing from American animation and Japanese anime. The company, according to Breathecast, was revived by Adult Swim in 2012 and has since been an expert in providing Japanese programs with English dub.
While the Twitter user may be giving "One Punch Man" fans a lot of hope, it should be noted that the said Twitter user may not be directly linked to the anime series' publisher and all reports coming from the Twitter must be taken with caution. Also, according to Christian Daily, there is a chance that the return of "One Punch Man" in Toonami as described in the tweet may be only be referring to an English dubbed first season of the show.
On the other hand, while there is not much news about Season 2, fans can temporarily turn their attention to an upcoming OVA of "One Punch Man" which will be released on May 27. This will be the sixth OVA overall, where the first five OVA's were released within five months after the anime series' Season 1 finale last December.
According to Otaku Tale, the upcoming OVA entitled "Fukanou-sugiru Satsujin Jiken" or "The Murder Case that is Too Impossible" will tell the story of the series' main protagonist, Saitama, and the rest of the S-Class heroes where they spend their free time together in a hot spring while solving a mysterious murder case.
