There have been rumors that the second season of highly popular anime series, "One Punch Man" will be delayed. It has been reported that "One Punch Man" Season 2 will be pushed back to an early 2017 premiere date. However, according to the latest reports, there is a possibility that the new chapter of the series will be released as early as this year. It is now expected that "One Punch Man" will air in the last quarter of 2016.

There are a lot of possible reasons for the delay of "One Punch Man" Season 2, but so far, there are signs that the show may finally be released earlier than expected. As reported by Christian Today, the follow-up season may happen towards the end of the year. October appears to be the most likely period when the latest season will be aired. According to the online publication, the series' creator, Yusuke Murata, might have already been working with the second season as soon as the first season ended last December. If this were the case, then it is very likely that "One Punch Man" Season 2 will air this October.

There are rumors in the past few months that the anime version of "One Punch Man" will be delayed as the TV series still lacks source material from the original manga series of the same title from One manga. However, Murata already revealed that he and his team have already been updating the latest chapters of the manga. In fact, there is already a sufficient number of source materials that the second season of the anime series could be released in October 2016, according to The Christian Post

One of the possible story arcs that can be included in the anime is the civil war among the Earth's most powerful heroes. Specifically, the "One Punch Man" civil war will involve the members of Hero Association and the Hero Hunter group. Breathe CAST also reported that the second season will feature the return of Lord Boros, who was defeated by the series' main hero and protagonist, Saitama. Lord Boros is expected to make a strong comeback with his arm fully regenerated after his fight with Saitama in Season 1's finale episode.
