'One Punch Man' season 2 release date news 2016: Second season to premiere after episode reruns?
The much anticipated second season of "One Punch Man" is reported to be released this year, although the exact date of premiere is not yet revealed. However, there is a possibility that Season 2 may arrive sooner than many fans expected.
Game N Guide reported that "One Punch Man" Season 2 will be airing right after the rerun of the first season's episodes on Adult Swim. The anime network channel has been able to acquire the rights to air the English dubbed version of "One Punch Man" Season 1. The dubbed rerun episodes have been on air for quite some time, but the rumors are rife that after showing the finale episode of Season 1 this Fall, the second season will follow.
Moreover, the series creator himself, Yusuke Murata, has been hinting on the second season being released later this year. It is possible that the new chapter of the series will be up around Fall, just in time when the episode reruns are finished. Murata also said that he and his team are working very hard to release the second season at the soonest time possible.
It is also speculated that the new adventures of the series' main hero Saitama will be more action-packed than in the first Season. Movie News Guide reported that the protagonist will face three enemies in "One Punch Man" Season 2, namely Garou, Amai Mask and Lord Boros. To recall the Season 1 finale of "One Punch Man," Saitama was successful in defeating the villainous Lord Boros, although it is expected that the former villain will make his comeback and seek revenge. Lord Boros acknowledged Saitama's "true strength" and that the hero has still not unleashed its true potential just before he is defeated, so their second face-off can be expected to be more intense.
On the other hand, Garou will be a likely opponent of Saitama in Season 2. This is because the former student of S-Class rank 3 hero Silver Fang, will develop such animosity towards the Earth's heroes. Silver Fang will have no choice but to exile Garou due to the latter's growing hatred. Garou is the main antagonist of the "Hero Hunt" arc of the "One Punch Man" manga series.
Lastly, the second season may finally reveal the dark side of Amai Mask, rank 1 in the special A-class heroes that is also known to be an entertainer. He is a skilled hero but is also an actor and a singer. At first, Amai Mask thinks greatly of the Earth's heroes, until his mindset will be tainted with the idea that evil does not have a second chance in the world, and those who do evil things must be exterminated right away.
