One Plus 4 release date, price rumors, specs: OnePlus 'flagship killer' to have half the price of iPhone 8?

Not too long after the release of the OnePlus 3 smartphone earlier this year, rumors are now circulating on the internet regarding the next iteration of the mid-range handset. If the latest rumors are anything to go by, the much hyped OnePlus 4 is expected to be a "flagship killer," rivaling the top smartphone brands in the market today. With its top-of-the-line specs and reasonable price tag, the OnePlus 4 will be enough to threaten even Apple's upcoming iPhone 8 in 2017.

One of the strong points of the recent OnePlus devices is their very competitive specs feature. After the OnePlus 3, the series is expected to step up even more with enhanced chipset and memory. It is rumored that the OnePlus 4 will make use of Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 830 processor paired with an extended RAM capacity of up to 8 GB. To recall, the high-tier OnePlus 3 variant has 6 GB RAM.

According to Know Your Mobile, the OnePlus 4 will have at least 32 GB of internal storage that can be expanded by up to 256 GB via microSD card. It will also be keeping the special features of the OnePlus 3 such as the USB-C port and NFC support. The OnePlus 4 may also see an upgrade with its camera features by sporting a 21 or 23 MP rear camera and an 8-MP front camera with Sony sensor integration. There seems to be no problem with OnePlus 4's battery life as it is reported to pack 4000 mAh battery.

With these mentioned specs, the OnePlus 4 is going to be the real deal in 2017 and is capable to rival Samsung's Galaxy S8 and even Apple's tenth anniversary iPhone 8 special model. One big reason for the consumers to prefer the OnePlus 4 over the other huge devices next year is its very affordable price. According to iTech Post, the OnePlus 4's price is expected to range from $300 to $400. In comparison, the iPhone 7 base variant is sold for $649. With the anticipated costlier iPhone 8, OnePlus 4 may come with half the price of Apple's next flagship handset.
