In the last episode of "Once Upon A Time" aired at 8/7c on Sunday on ABC, Mary Margaret/Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and David/Prince Charming (Josh Dallas) were tricked into resurrecting Maleficent (Kristin Bauer van Straten).

Titled "Unforgiven," the episode started in the alternative fairytale universe where Snow White and Charming were approached after their honeymoon by Ursula (Merrin Dungey), Cruella (Victoria Smurfit) and Maleficent for help in stopping the Evil Queen from setting a dark spell in motion.

The group then journeyed to a Tree of Wisdom. However, on the way Charming and Snow had a change of heart and left the evil trio behind. But when they were in front of the tree they could not get any answers. Maleficent then informed them that since their unborn child could turn out to be terribly evil or very good, the tree would not speak to them. Then Maleficent also revealed that she was also pregnant.

In the present time in Storybrooke, Cruella, Gold (Robert Carlyle) and Ursula plan to bring Maleficent back to life. They then purposefully stole a rattle and got David and Mary to follow them to where Maleficent's ashes were. Tricked into the trap, the pair was knocked out and their blood was used to resurrect Maleficent who then proceeded to threaten them with "great pain."

David and Mary were spooked by this but did not reveal their secret to Emma (Jennifer Morrison). Instead Mary went to see Regina (Lana Parrilla) and talked to her into pretending she was evil again. She could then join with Maleficent, Ursula and Cruella to know what they were up to. Mary then revealed that she and David caused Maleficent to lose her child.

There was also several minor subplots. The most important one involved Regina working with Henry (Jared S. Gilmore) and Pinocchio (Jakob Davies) to find out who was the author of the storybook.
