Lana Parrilla as The Evil Queen on ABC fantasy series, \"Once Upon a Time.\" | ABC

Hit fantasy drama series "Once Upon a Time" will soon begin airing its season 6, and viewers will see some significant changes not only on-screen but also in matters behind the camera. Aside from the new characters and worlds expected by fans, the show will also return to its old way of presenting stories. The show began its split-season storytelling format back in season 3, but it will nof return to its initial format of one continuous story all throughout the season. In a nutshell, co-creator Eddy Kitsis explained the recent format change, saying: "It's not going to be 'Hyde comes to town, we fight with him for 10 episodes, and then in the winter finale he dies and we move on.' We are... going back to that Season 1 mentality of small-town stories and smaller arcs."

As for casting news, "iZombie" lead actress Rose McIver is rumored to be reprising her role in the fantasy drama as Tinker Bell. The character was last seen in season 3, and since then, fans have been wondering when the fan-favorite will return to the show. McIver currently has her hands full as "iZombie" will soon air its third season, but she mentioned that she has been longing to make a comeback. Unfortunately, the conflict in scheduling makes it impossible for her to return in the series. "Yeah, we have tried a few times to bring her back but scheduling's quite hard because they shoot at the same time as 'iZombie,'" she mentioned.

Viewers can also expect to see more of the characters' minds as the upcoming season progresses. According to showrunner Adam Horowitz, the new chapter will help them greatly explore the stories of each character. "What's really exciting about it is, for season 6, really being in Storybrooke again," he stated. "As we hinted in the finale last year, in seeing the Evil Queen [Lana Parrilla] split, it's allowing us to do that for a lot of our characters - not as literally - but it's turning inward on a lot of these characters that we've been with for five seasons so far."

"Once Upon a Time" season 6 is expected to premiere sometime in the Fall on ABC.
