'Once Upon a Time' season 6 spoilers: August helps Emma and Regina return to Storybrooke; what's next for Henry?

An old friend helps Emma (Jennifer Morrison) change her own fate when "Once Upon a Time" season 6 returns next month.

According to spoiler reports, Pinocchio, also known as August (Eion Bailey), returns in the midseason premiere to play a major part in helping Emma and Regina (Lana Parrilla) come back to Storybrooke. Aside from restoring Pinocchio's confidence in the wish realm, his reunion with Emma also restores Emma's faith about her power to decide her own destiny.

The upcoming episode will center on the pair's relationship as they become closer to each other. In addition, the story will reveal that they have a much deeper connection than Emma ever thought. Emma will discover that if it weren't for August, she may never have become the savior in the first place.

Emma and August have had a special bond since they first met in season 1. He arrived in Storybrooke with a lot of knowledge about the magic of stories, but the back half of season 6 will reveal that it's not the only thing that ties them.

As for Henry's (Jared S. Gilmore) fate, Entertainment Weekly reports that his gig as the Author "kicks into overdrive" this season. What that means remains unclear, but it will certainly make some residents of Storybrooke worry about their safety.

The back half of season 6 kicks off with Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) still slumbering in Storybrooke. With the help of Hook (Colin O'Donoghue), David (Josh Dallas) must race the clock to stop Gideon (Giles Matthey) before he reaches Emma. While meeting with Belle (Emilie de Ravin) and Gold (Robert Carlyle), Gideon makes a shocking confession about here he stayed while he was missing. Elsewhere, Regina finds it difficult to accept that everyone is better off in the alternate world where her alter ego, the Evil Queen (also played by Parrilla), was defeated.

The sixth season of "Once Upon a Time" returns on Sunday, March 5, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
