The announcement from NVIDIA at the GPU Technology Conference in San Jose, California to develop a VR-ready GPU has given so much excitement to the fans across the tech world. According to reports, the new machine will be combined with Nvidia's Quadro technology with advanced software that PC manufacturers can use for their upcoming designs.

The Quadro M5500 GPU is the most powerful mobile GPU today, according to NVIDIA. The technology is currently being used by makers such as HP and MSI to incorporate with their own VR-ready devices. The impressive WT72 mobile workstation from MSI is the first device to use the Quadro M5500 GPU.

The powerful laptop from MSI weighs 8.4 pounds and has a 17.3-inch screen. Along with its Quadro M5500 GPU, the workstation will also run on a mobile Xeon processor as reported by Anandtech. However, the company has yet to provide any information regarding its pricing details.

On the other hand, HP's Z workstations are the other devices that have adapted the VR technology. HP has intended to develop these devices for content creators who work as game and software developers.

According to Jeff Wood, HP's VP for Workstations, the company is taking their technology to another level.

"We are embarking on a new frontier that will change how content producers and artists develop the most immersive, visually stimulating content available," Wood said in a statement.

HP's Z workstations can be configured with up to dual Quadro M6000 GPUs. Each of the cards will have 24 GB of memory. Quadro M6000 GPU is said to have Nvidia's VR Scalable Link Interface. It will add more power to the machine for these new VR applications.

The Z workstations are definitely NVIDIA VR-ready, and already available in the market for a whopping $4,363. The ones that are available now do not have the Quadro cards technology yet. HP is said to have it integrated in May.
