Nvidia unveils GeForce Game Ready 364.72 WHQL for Oculus Rift owners

Finally, the Oculus Rift has arrived. Beginning March 28, Monday, Oculus VR will be delivering the first consumer versions of the most-awaited VR headset. To commemorate the event, Oculus CEO Brendan Iribe posted a tweet along with a Rift bundle photo confirming that the VR headsets are on its way to customers who pre-ordered. In line with the Oculus Rift's arrival, graphics makers Nvidia and AMD released a new batch of drivers to improve the VR headset.
As for the Oculus Rift's greatest rival HTC Vive VR headset, the driver also delivers its purpose when it comes to overall efficiency and performance. Even if the head mounted display (HMD) consumer version is yet to be released, this driver ensures early adopters to be ready, as reported by Digital Times.
According to the official website of Nvidia GeForce, the new drivers called GeForce Game Ready 364.72 WHQL not only enhances overall capacity, but also minimizes latency. The latest drivers provide additional support for new features from VRWorks and across all 30 titles from Oculus Rift.For those who have never heard of VRWorks, it is a software development kit by Nvidia intended for game developers and VR headsets. It also includes front buffer rendering, direct mode, multi-res shading,VR SLI as well as context priority. In terms of how the drivers will optimize the HTC Vive, Nvidia keeps the lid on the details which is somehow expected. After all, the HTC Vive is yet to be released with a scheduled arrival on April 5.
These drivers are also compatible with PC games like Quantum Break, Dark Souls III, Killer Instinct and Paragon. All game titles mentioned are officially supported by Nvidia for this driver update, as it offers a boost both in visuals and performance.
