Nvidia GTX 1070 release date news 2016: New Pascal-based GPU sold out two weeks after its release?
Prior to its release, the Nvidia GTX 1070 was widely anticipated by many tech freaks across the world. When it was finally released two weeks ago, it sold like hotcakes that fans could no longer find any unit at their nearest computer stores or even online.

According to a report by VR World, both the Pascal-based GeForce GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 are nowhere to be seen. The new GPUs are being sold for reasonable prices. The new GeForce GTX 1070 has a manufacturer's suggested retail price or MSRP of $379; the Founders Edition of the GPU is currently being sold at $449. On the other hand, the GeForce GTX 1080 is being sold with an MSRP of $599, while the Founders Edition of the card is at $699.
As of the moment, both cards are listed as "out of stock" on several shops including the online store Newegg. Meanwhile, units are available on Amazon; however, the prices are way higher than the MSRP. The price of GTX 1070 is even higher than the GTX 1080 on Amazon. Many fans find it absurd as they try to search for more stores hoping to get their hands on the popular GPU.
Previous reports suggest that the new GTX 1070 has been getting positive reviews from both fans and critics. Tech observers are even saying that it could certainly challenge the current-gen Titan GPUs. According to reports, the new GTX 1070 performs better than any model from the Titan series.
The new graphics card has certainly surprised a lot of people in the tech community. Prior to the release of GTX 1070 and GTX 1080, many fans believed that the latter would be the one to compete with the Titan X flagship. However, as it turned out, the GTX 1070 emerged as the best bang for the buck GPU.
