'No Man's Sky' release date updates: Sean Murray receiving death threats due to the game delay?

The much-anticipated adventure survival video game, "No Man's Sky", has finally gotten new release date details following an alleged series of death threats on Sean Murray.
The Hello Games founder said that he has been receiving threats coming from fans after the game's release date was moved from June to August 2016. The announcement was made without significant details and fans did not take it easily. Some players got disappointed and resorted to sending drastic messages to Murray. The game now has an Aug. 9 release date and Murray thanked those who sent him death threats via Twitter.
"I have received loads of death threats this week, but don't worry, Hello Games now looks like the house from Home Alone #pillowfort," The Hello Games founder wrote on his personal Twitter account. Murray also said that the company is now polishing the game as the team is finalizing codes. "No Man's Sky" was announced at Spike VGX in 2013 and since then fans have been anticipating for it to come out.
According to GameRant, it is quite strange for these fans to resort to drastic measures such as sending death threats to the game creators because the game will only be delayed by just a couple of months. It makes everyone wonder what these fans can do had the game been delayed for a year or worse, cancelled. The publication added that short delays are normal since creators and developers will use some extra time to make sure they provide enough good content to meet the expectations of the fans.
Death threats against game developers are nothing new as previous reports also revealed some fans harassing people from various gaming companies.
For now, fans will have to wait for Aug. 9 to finally have a chance to play "No Man's Sky." Sean Murray and the rest of Hello Games are also expected to provide more details about the game at the upcoming E3 event.
