'No Man's Sky' release date news: Aug. 9 launching confirmed

There has been a huge cloud of confusion among the gaming fans patiently waiting for the release of the much-awaited adventure video game, "No Man's Sky." Many players believe that the game will be out in the coming few months although the recent e-mail notification sent to them suggested that "No Man's Sky" might possibly be released towards the end of the year. This made a lot of the fans very disappointed, but fortunately, it appears to be a mere misunderstanding as the "No Man's Sky" game publisher finally cleared up the release date issue.

Hello Games has been subjected to the gaming fans' ire because of the alleged release date delay. Design N Trend reported Hello Games studio programmer Sean Murray posting an important tweet just recently to pacify the fans. The cause of confusion was caused by the recent e-mail sent by the PlayStation Network to those who have already pre-ordered "No Man's Sky." The e-mail states that the release of the video game would be on or before Dec. 31. This is contrary to the previously announced release date which is on August 9.

The fans were angered by this message as they are already expecting "No Man's Sky" to be available in less than two months. In fact, Hello Games initially announced last March that the game will be released on June 21, a few days after the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 this week. "No Man's Sky" being released on the very last day of 2016 is already too much for the fans. The good thing is that the specified date on the e-mail was just a mistake.

Murray asked the fans to not be stressed out as he assured that there will be no changes in the scheduled release date.

"No Man's Sky" has already been well-received by a lot of people even before its expected full launch this year. In fact, BBC's technology reporter Dave Lee noted that while the game has "no flashing lights, no pounding music, no booth babes," it still managed to "stole the show" during a press conference of Sony PlayStation on June 2014. "No Man's Sky'" also won in E3 2014 Game Critics Awards as Best Original Game and Best Independent Game and received the Special Commendation for Innovation.
