'No Man's Sky' news: Sean Murray confirms game finally went gold, release date scheduled on Aug. 9

"No Man's Sky" is said to be the biggest game to arrive this year, and after many delays, the much-anticipated game has already gone gold. The game's completion is just in time for its launch next month, and Hello Games founder/game creator Sean Murray couldn't be happier.
In a Twitter post dated July 8, Murray shared his excitement to all the fans who patiently waited for the game. "It's happened. 'No Man's Sky' just went gold. I'm so incredibly proud of this tiny team. 4 years of emotions," his post reads.
"No Man's Sky" was initially scheduled to have a June release but it was pushed back to August. Murray said in an earlier blog post that his team "can't mess it up" which is probably the reason why they needed more time to make final touch-ups. "I've said it before, but 'No Man's Sky' is the hardest thing I've ever worked on. It's even bigger than you can imagine. This is a type of game that hasn't been attempted before, by a smaller team than anyone would expect, under an intense amount of expectation," the creator explained.
For those wondering what the hype is all about, "No Man's Sky" is "big" in the sense that a player will be put in a vast environment. It has been dubbed as a "universe-sized sandbox" because it of the 18 quintillion worlds a player can explore. No missions or quests have to be accomplished, since it is up to the player to decide which worlds or galaxies he/she wants to visit. Each planet has various resources to gather plus new creatures to discover, and the credits earned from those achievements can be used to upgrade the spaceship, wardrobe or weapons.
Pre-order can now be done through Amazon and the PS4 version has a price tag of $59.96. "No Man's Sky" will be available for PC and PS4 on August 9 in North America and August 10 in Europe.
