Nintendo NX rumors: Wii U titles to be included, more powerful than PS4?
The Nintendo NX is expected to come out this year and according to reports, it will be more powerful than the PlayStation 4.
As noted by a NeoGaf user, the latest offering from Nintendo will have leverage to the PlayStation 4 when it comes to power. "The NX will be more powerful than the PS4. 'By a noticeable amount'. From the CPU, to GPU, to RAM. Sources don't know the clock speeds, or memory type or amount of memory," the post reads. This might be in line with Nintendo's effort to redeem itself from the brink of irrelevance, making the forthcoming console a make-or-break feat for the company.
Additionally, Wii fans will be delighted to know that the console is said to come with well-known Wii U titles. Longtime Nintendo blogger and reliable tipster Emily Rogers gave details through her Twitter account with a rundown of titles which can be anticipated. "The following Wii U ports in development for NX: Zelda, Smash Bros, Mario Maker, Splatoon. But...and yes there's a 'But'...(read next tweet)," Rogers' post reads.
Her next post reads: "Just because something is in development doesn't mean it'll be released. So either all four of these ports will come...or only two of them." Rogers gave a follow-up stating: "I spoke with at least 10 people regarding these four ports. Splatoon is up in the air. Zelda/Smash Bros sound like guarantees." Rogers' Twitter page is now private, but screenshots of her tweets can still be viewed in NeoGaf.
According to Express, the NX project might also include Amiibo figures. This could mean a new near-field communication reader for the console, which could lead to an array of compatible game bonuses. Moreover, recent rumors suggest that the NX will sport an AMD GPU model. Nintendo has yet to announce if a definitive launch date for the Nintendo NX is on the horizon. However, the console is rumored to be introduced at the upcoming E3 2016.
