Nintendo NX release date, specs news 2016: Console's launch delayed due to VR compatibility?

Nintendo NX has been in the rumor mill for quite some time now. There have been contradicting reports coming from various sources with regard to its development and release date. According to the latest reports, the release of the new console from Nintendo will be delayed. The reports suggest that the company wants to make the NX VR compatible before they roll it out in the market.

The plan of the Japanese multinational consumer electronics and Software Company is to make sure they have something to compete with the likes of PlayStation VR, the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive.

Many fans believe that Nintendo might wait for the PlayStation 4.5 NEO before deciding to release their own upgraded console. If rumors prove to be true, the release of Nintendo NX might be pushed back a little further from March next year.

Nintendo NX may not appear at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo or E3 2016, which is scheduled to start on June 14. It is certainly going to disappoint many fans as they have already expected the company to provide further details with regard to its development and release date.

Tatsumi Kimishima, Nintendo president, said in May that the company will make sure they do not commit the same mistake they did when they decided to release Wii U.

"When Wii U was launched, the yen was very strong," the Nintendo Boss said. "I am assuming that situation will not repeat itself. Selling at a loss at launch would not support the business, so we are keeping that mind in developing NX."

"We are planning with the expectation that NX sales will compensate for much of the impact on sales from reduced Wii U hardware sales," Kimishima added.

As of the moment, Nintendo has yet to confirm these reports. Nonetheless, many fans are expecting the company to provide further details with regard to these rumors before E3 kicks off.
