Nintendo is reportedly cooking up a new flagship gaming device with a target release date this year. Dubbed as "Nintendo NX," it is expected to bring up the sales of the company that has suffered a momentary pause of profits as Nintendo's current featured product, Wii U, did not perform well in the market.

According to the website KnowYourMobile, Nintendo's present game console has performed below many's expectations for the past few years. As Wii U was slated to become a commercial success and have a huge impact on the people following the achievements of its predecessor Wii device, it took in considerably less profit for the company which is enough to call it a commercial disaster. With a disappointing 10 million units of Wii U sold since its launching in 2012, it is unlikely to top the record of GameCube which has reached the 30 million mark. Due to this and the forthcoming brand new Nintendo console, the company has reportedly decided to stop the production of Wii U and focus on Nintendo NX at the meantime.

As mentioned in Express UK, a statement was given to the Japanese -based publication IT Media through a spokesperson of Nintendo reveals that the company has no plans of discarding Wii U from their inventory and revealed that the production of the device will continue.

One of the soundest rumor about the release date of Nintendo NX  says that the gaming gadget will be out this year, with a target shifting of 20 to 30 million units by the end of 2016 going to 2017 financial year, which is probably set for a launching before Christmas this year.

As for the features of "Nintendo NX," rumor has it that the gadget will be a special union of the home console and handheld console markets. This would mean that it will be designed to be played steady at home, but on certain occasions it can serve as a portable device which can be taken anywhere by the user for leisure.
