It has long been reported that Nintendo is currently cooking up a powerful gaming console, dubbed as the Nintendo NX. Although the Japanese-based electronic gaming company has refused to share concrete details regarding its much-anticipated offering, many are expecting that Nintendo NX will be released as early as this year. Unfortunately, it seems that Nintendo still does not think that the time is right to unveil its most powerful home console yet.

According to the latest rumor, Nintendo now prefers to release its next home console in March 2017. Furthermore, the moving of the release date is important for it to append a new mysterious feature on Nintendo NX. Earlier reports claim that one of the special features of Nintendo NX is the VR capability. However, it appears that the virtual reality aspect of gaming is still off the table for Nintendo with respect to their next console.

Nintendo's big man and renowned game developer, Shigeru Miyamoto was the first to spill the latest developments regarding Nintendo NX's supposed launching in the coming months. He stated that the Japanese-based company is taking its sweet time to further develop the product, especially that they are planning to add an unknown but special feature on NX.

"In terms of NX, there's an idea that we're working on. That's why we can't sharing anything at this point. It is just a matter of following advancements in technology, things would be coming out a lot quicker," Miyamoto told the Associated Press (AP) via Trusted Reviews.

Nintendo America regional president and chief executive officer, Reggie Fils-Aimé already refuted the rumors that Nintendo NX will be boasting VR features.

Mobipicker previously reported that Nintendo NX might make an appearance during the Tokyo Game Show 2016. Many were expecting that the upcoming Nintendo console would be unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 which was held last month in Los Angeles, California, but the company did not take the opportunity to introduce their latest project to the public.

Rumor has it that Nintendo is planning to build up NX as a superior device to go against PlayStation NEO that is rumored to be an updated version of PS4 with 4K screen resolution feature. Nintendo NX is also expected to rival Xbox Two next year. To make Nintendo NX as powerful as possible, it was reported that the console will use a modified version of Polaris GPU created by AMD.
