One of the most-awaited consoles to arrive this year is the Nintendo NX, but the company has been keeping the lid on further details about it for quite some time now. However, AMD's recent earnings call might have just revealed the console's release date which is Q2 of this year.

The three semi-custom system-on-chip (SOC) mentioned might be related to this latest development, which could bring a whopping $1.5 billion in revenue to the company within the next four to five years. It is speculated that one of them is the Nintendo NX. "If you think about the semi-custom business in the past few years, the third quarter is always the peak," said AMD's CEO Lisa Su via Express. "It will be the peak this year, as well, but we're starting some of the ramping in the second quarter as we build to the stronger third quarter."

What exactly is the Nintendo NX? Since Nintendo wanted to keep the element of surprise, not much details regarding the device are known. So far, even a definitive release date has yet to be confirmed, but Gamestop chief operating officer Tony Bartel stated during an event that there are also new launches that are "imminent."

"Although we have not modelled extensive growth for new innovation in this presentation, we are very pleased to see the introduction of technology like virtual reality and rumoured new console launches, some of which seem imminent," he said via GameSpot. When he was asked for further information, he said: "As usual, we know more than we can share."

Despite the company's efforts to keep important details from the public, a NeoGAF user provided some speculated games once the console comes out. The titles include remakes of Zelda Wii U, Smash Bros 4, Splatoon as well as Super Mario Maker.

Last January, Twitter user @serkantoto claimed that Namco Bandai was working on new titles for the console, plus a Smash Bros. title for the release, which reads: "Bandai Namco is currently developing several NX titles. Smash Bros is planned to be a launch title. I am not sure about the date - yet ;)."
