Nintendo NX release date and new characters update: Could arrive as early as the 2016 Holidays

The Nintendo NX has thus far been elusive, with little news about the next generation console becoming available. However, new rumors have emerged that the highly anticipated gaming console could be released as early as during the holiday season of 2016.

Although there is still no official word from the company with regard to the new rumored release, fans are looking at several clues that may suggest a possible year end debut. Rumor has it that the Nintendo NX will come out in the market together with the much awaited release of "The Legend of Zelda" on Wii U. They basically based their speculations on the previous release of "Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" on Gamecube and Wii.

The rumor first emerged on NeoGAF after a post from its member, Rötsi, was found in the forum. The post stated that Foxconn reportedly suggested that the Nintendo NX will be released late this year. Foxconn is said to be currently working for Nintendo for their NX console. Nintendo has yet to provide any comment with regard to the revelation; however, any information coming from Foxconn, which is involved in the project, is certainly something believable.

Nevertheless, Rötsi made it clear at the end of the post that the report could be just another rumor as it was not confirmed by Foxconn. He added that the report came from the investor meeting set up by the company. The forum member has also said that he will continue to find out if the report is indeed coming from Foxconn or not.

Meanwhile, another rumor has surfaced that the newly released "Super Smash Bros" might have another debut on the NX platform once the console comes out in the market. It is said that the game's NX version will come with a DLC that includes two popular characters in Ryu and Cloud. If rumors prove to be true, fans will certainly dig the Nintendo NX's version.

It will be hard to predict which rumors are true or not. Nevertheless, it should be interesting once the company makes an official announcement.
