Nexus 6, Nexus X Release Date, Specs: Initial Outlook Is Pretty Impressive
Leaked images of the Nexus 6, otherwise known as the Nexus X, have started to appear on the Internet. It also looks like the release will not be far off, as the buzz around the phone has started to grow. Android Authority has pegged the release date sometime around October 16, 2014. But it also quotes Inferse mentioning that the Nexus 6 is being manufactured by Motorola and will be released on October 31.

With the stage set for the arrival of a new smartphone in the market. Most of the tech websites including Gizmodo and NDTV Gadgets are reporting that benchmark test results for the Nexus 6 have appeared on Geekbench, where the phone is known as Motorola Shamu. However, going by the numbers from the test results, the Shamu appears to be the Nexus X.
Gizmodo reports that in the test results the Nexus X lags behind the iPhone 6 when comparing single core performance but is better than it in multi core mode. In the Geekbench test, the Nexus X was also compared to several other smartphones including the Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and iPhone 5s.
NDTV Gadgets reports that going by the test results, the Nexus 6 is pretty impressive when compared to other Android smartphones. But it is in multi-core testing that the Nexus 6 leaves all its competitors in the dust as it is the fastest with a score of 3199.
Also included in the Geekbench results, were the specs of the phone that most consider to be the Nexus 6. The specs show that it has the new Android L OS, a quad-core Qualcomm 2.65GHz processor (rumored to be Snapdragon 805) coupled with 3GB of RAM.
As for the front and rear cameras the Nexus 6 is rumored have a 2 megapixel front camera and a 13 megapixel rear camera.
