Nexus 5 vs. LG G2 Review: Comparison of Specs - Design and Camera the Core Difference In Battle Between 2 Budget Phones

Although almost a year old, the Nexus 5 and LG G2 are great budget phones for people who want bang for their buck and great features to boot.

The Nexus 5 at 5.43 inches is slightly smaller and lighter than the LG G2 which measures 5.45 inches. However, both phones have the same screen specs of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The Nexus 5 has a slightly better pixel density of 445 pixels per inch compared to the LG G2 with 423 pixels per inch.

Design is where these smartphones differ. The Nexus 5 has a rubber-based back panel while the LG G2 has a much more premium look and feel due to its glossy plastic rear casing.

The two phones have the same chip, CPU and graphics processor. Their common chip is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 MSM8974, while their processor is the Quad core Krait 400 clocked at 2.26 GHz. Their GPU is the Adreno 330. Even when it comes to RAM, both smartphones carry the same 2 GB version.

Manufactured by LG G2, both phones do not have any microSD slots but they do come in two variants of15 GB and 32 GB.

The LG G2 handily beats the Nexus 5 when it comes to battery power since the former has a 3,000mAh Lithium-Ion battery, which can provide up to 19 hours of usage time. The Nexus 5 has a smaller capacity of 2,3000mAh Lithium-Ion battery.

The LG G2 has a better 13 megapixel camera at its rear. The Nexus 5 has an 8 megapixel rear camera.

Google has hinted that it is going to stop production of the Nexus 5 but has not reduced it price. Its 16 GB version costs $415 on Amazon. The LG G2 16GB version is priced at $330.
