The trailer for the upcoming miniseries "A.D." has recently been released, showing what happens to Jerusalem and the world following Jesus' crucifixion.

The three-minute movie trailer, released last week, begins by showing Pontius Pilot and his decision to crucify Jesus, as well the betrayal of Jesus by Judas. The trailer goes on to show clips of the dangers of Jerusalem following Jesus' crucifixion, as well as the discovery that Jesus' tomb was empty when he was resurrected into heaven.

The upcoming miniseries, set to be released around Easter  by NBC, is a sequel to the highly-acclaimed miniseries "The Bible" on The History Channel. Both shows are being produced by evangelical couple Mark Burnett and Roma Downey.

The miniseries includes a cast of multi-cultural actors such as Argentinian actor Juan Pablo di Pace as Jesus, Gambian actor Babou Ceesay as John and Tanzanian actress Chipo Chung as Mary Magdalene. Producer Roma Downey previously said that she wanted to cast a multi-cultural group of actors for the miniseries to reflect the reach of Christianity in the world.

"Christianity is among the most diverse movements in history, so when Mark and I looked to bring this epic story of A.D. to life on NBC, it was important to us to find a cast as diverse and beautiful as the church is around the world," Downey said in a previous interview.

Recently while filming in Morocco, several of the actors reportedly seeing unique images in the sky, such a cloud shaped liked a cross and a double rainbow. Some crew members suggested that there may be a connection between these images and their filming.
