Set to premiere this Fall, "New Girl" season 6 marks the return of Megan Fox and the directorial debut of Zooey Deschanel.

Fan-favorite character Reagan will be making her way back to the hit comedy series for a multi-episode arc, according to TV Line. Fox previously joined in season 5 to help buoy the program when lead star Deschanel was on her maternity leave. Reagan's funny and confident personality made fans like her even more but unfortunately, her arc had to end when Deschanel returned. Good news is that she will be seen on the small screen once more, however, she will appear around midseason to accommodate Fox's real-life pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Deschanel will step behind the camera for the show's premiere. The actress will have her directorial debut for the sixth season's first episode titled "House Hunt." The story picks up three months after the season 5 finale wherein Cece (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) tied the knot while Jess and Nick (Jake Johnson) broke up. The finale also saw Winston (Lamorne Morris) go overboard just to prank Cece and Schmidt â€” following them all the way to their honeymoon vacation.

After being heartbroken, Jess decides to distract herself from the emotional pain and begins to try new hobbies for fun. Meanwhile, Nick is still in New Orleans with Reagan to help her find a new job. Winston makes an effort to keep up a long-distance relationship with his girlfriend Aly (Nasim Pedrad) while newlyweds Cece and Schmidt begin their search for a perfect house where they can settle down for good.

Last week, the cast worked on their first table read and Fox (via Entertainment Weekly) released a photo showing Deschanel's new nameplate indicating her post as the director. The cover of the premiere episode's script was also shown.

The sixth season of "New Girl" premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 20, at 8:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
