Long-running CBS police procedural series "NCIS" may have lost one of its original cast members this year, but the show returns this Fall with a new agent played by Wilmer Valderrama.

Aside from Valderrama, four cast members also signed new deals for the show, including Pauley Perrette, Sean Murray, Rocky Carroll and David McCallum. Their contracts will be effective up until season 15, which means fans need not worry because their favorite series regulars are not going anywhere. Cote De Pablo previously announced that she will not return to the series, and according to Deadline, casting is currently underway for a new female series regular. Rumor has it that Sarah Clarke might land the vacant spot, but her promotion may be far from reach since she is currently working on the second season of Amazon Prime's police procedural drama "Bosch."

For the uninitiated, Clarke's character Tess Monroe was introduced in the last remaining episodes of season 13 as a guest star. Agent Monroe got transferred from Washington DC to New York, and she has been married and divorced a number of times. Her character is described as someone who is very protective of her team and she is more than willing to risk it all just to do what is right.

"NCIS" largely owes its 13 years of success to the characters' interesting dynamics with each other. Michael Weatherly's exit might have caused a huge shake-up in the series and disappointment among fans, but hopefully, Valderrama and the yet-to-be-named new female character will give viewers more reasons to tune in every week.

"NCIS as a show, as a franchise, doesn't change," showrunner Gary Glasberg said in an interview after DiNozzo's departure. "The humor is still there, the pathos is still there, the human mystery, the fun in the storytelling. At the end of the day we move forward, look ahead, find new characters, new dynamics, new interplay in the way this family functions. The tone won't change."

Catch the season 14 premiere of "NCIS" which is scheduled to air on Sept. 20, Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
