Now on its 14th season, "NCIS" remains one of the top-rating procedural drama programs on TV. However, there are speculations that the CBS series will soon come to an end after ratings reportedly dropped significantly following Michael Weatherly's exit. Reports point out that "NCIS" currently has a 1.92 rating in the 18-49 demographics—13.35 percent lower compared to the show's previous season.
Aside from Weatherly's exit, there are speculations that the departure of fan favorite character Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) is another reason for the dip in ratings. Rumor has it that veteran cast member Mark Harmon will be the next to leave the program due to a health condition, but the actor has yet to comment on the issue. If Harmon is indeed exiting the drama, some fans suggest that Weatherly's return is the only way to help boost the ratings. Unfortunately, Weatherly's anticipated return might be far from happening soon since he is busy working on his CBS drama "Bull."
Keep tuning in to "NCIS" season 14 every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
