'NCIS' season 14 episode 13 spoilers: Palmer's 'big, big screts' to be revealed

Fans will be treated to a blast from Jimmy Palmer's (Brian Dietzen) past as Ducky's (David McCallum) assistant plays hero in the next episode of "NCIS" season 14, "Keep Going."

The Palmer-centric episode will see the character go out of his way to stop a jumper (played by Spencer Clark) from ending his life. This involves reminding him of reasons to live, which has Jimmy thinking back to everything he did in his life as he stood on a ledge with this man.

"We flash back to a bunch of things that Jimmy has done over the years, where he has always been a very positive character â€” a glass-half-full type of guy. We revisit that over and over again," Dietzen explained to TVLine of "NCIS" season 14, episode 13.

The actor teases that there will be "a couple of big, big secrets" that will be revealed by the end of the hour and fans will learn things that no one knew about Palmer in "NCIS" season 14, episode 13.

In an interview with Variety, Dietzen revealed that the episode intends to put the positive thinker into a crucial situation that he is not trained for in order to shed light on his tribulations and give a peek as to why Palmer is such a ball of sunshine.

Fans who followed the most-watched drama know very well that even in the darkest times, Palmer always makes sure to look on the brighter side for himself and the team. "NCIS" season 14, episode 13 will show as to why Palmer is just how he is.

"When you hit something that just seems it's insurmountable, when you hit something that seems like there's no path around it or through it, you just have to keep your head down and just keep going and do what you believe in. I think Jimmy Palmer was kind of the perfect vessel to send that message from our team," Dietzen explained.

"NCIS" season 14, episode 13 also serves as the first installment whose script was written after showrunner Gary Glasberg's unexpected death. With that in mind, they were able to make a "really great story about life affirmation."

"NCIS" season 14, episode 13, "Keep Going," airs Tuesday, Jan. 24, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
