'NCIS: New Orleans' season 3 release date, spoilers news: Show lauded for keeping true to the culture in New Orleans

Hit police procedural spinoff series "NCIS: New Orleans" recently concluded its sophomore run, and due to its success, the show has been renewed for a third season by CBS.
The show earned its popularity as it's storyline kept true to the city it represents. Even the city's local newspaper "The Times-Picayune" recognized the show's references being on point as it featured the characters mentioning popular New Orleans restaurants like "Mother's," "Cafe du Monde" and "Chubbie's."
Additionally, the show celebrated renowned New Orleans personalities like chefs Susan Spicer, John Besh, Leah Chase and Sue Zemanick. Brass Band, Daniel Farrow, Sweet Jones, Yes Ma'am, and Dr. John are among the local musicians who made an appearance in the series. Arbita, the city's most popular beer, was also featured in the show as the characters shared drinks in some episodes.
Scott Bakula, who portrays the character of Special Agent Dwayne Cassius Pride, praised the lasting appeal of the original "NCIS" series in a recent interview. "By all rights, people should be tired of procedurals and they should be tired of that show," he said. "But they have got some magic model and they just keep going – and it's astounding."
The actor seems to be enjoying his job as a part of the "NCIS: New Orleans" team, as he also expressed how much fun he is having while on set. "People often ask me, 'How much do you like this job?' It would probably be the best job I ever had if I was shooting in Los Angeles, but you can't make New Orleans in LA. You can make some of the sets, but as soon as you go outside, it's not the same!" said Bakula.
As of this writing, the network has not yet released an official premiere date for "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3. Based on the previous seasons, the series will likely return to the small screen sometime around September of this year.
