NCIS teams up with the FBI when a plane crash in the bayou reveals foul play and a possible link to the cartel in the upcoming episode of CBS' hit procedural spinoff series "NCIS: New Orleans" season 3.

Titled "Course Correction," next week's episode will see the team probing on a plane crash that could be linked to another open case. According to the official synopsis, NCIS and FBI investigate a private plane crash in the bayou that led to three dead sailors. Back in the headquarters, Sonja (Shalita Grant) and Lasalle (Lucas Black) begin interviewing candidates applying for the team's open agent position.

This week's episode ended on a sad note after fan-favorite forensic scientist Sebastian Lund (Rob Kerkovich) got kidnapped, leading the team to a furious hunt to find him. Pride (Scott Bakula) is determined to track down Sebastian and the person(s) responsible for kidnapping him. One of the first things he did was talk to Sebastian's mom Sylvia (guest star Wendie Malick), with whom he was eating at a local restaurant when the crime occurred.

Kerkovich recently caught up with Parade, and he explained that his character got kidnapped because he is really good at playing a particular video game. Through his skills in the said game, his kidnappers are hoping that he could help them "break a cohort of theirs out of prison." "Besides the fact that he has been kidnapped by these killers, he is also thrown into an actual prison, which is actually even more terrifying," the actor added.

According to Kerkovich, the introduction of Sebastian's mom will give viewers more insight on his backstory in the coming episodes. "We learn a little bit about how he was as a kid," he said. "Just seeing his mother and the way she behaves, it becomes pretty clear why Sebastian is who he is, which is a testament to Wendie and her acting chops."

The third season of "NCIS: New Orleans" airs every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
