The team discovers counterfeit products and stolen government funds after a Homeland Security gets poisoned by a notorious Triad assassin in the upcoming episode of "NCIS: LA" season 8.

Titled "Black Market," next week's episode will see one death lead the team to investigate on a bigger crime. The official synopsis notes that after a Homeland Security's dead body is discovered to be poisoned by an infamous Triad assassin, the NCIS: LA team will uncover bigger crime. After finding more evidence, they will uncover a warehouse filled with counterfeit purses and a money trail that leads to stolen government funds. To help with the investigation, Nell (Renée Felice Smith) joins the team in the field and uses her skills as an intelligence analyst.

In the previous season of the show, Callen (Chris O'Donnell) finally got a few answers about his family, particularly his father. According to TV Guide, Callen's father Garrison (Daniel J. Travanti) will be back this season in a huge and surprising way. His arrival in the City of Angels will bring him closer to Callen, in a literal sense.

"[Callen and his father] become, at least temporarily, sort of 'Odd Couple' roommates," showrunner Scott Gemmill told the media outlet. The changes brought by their new living set up remain to be seen, but if one thing is for certain, Callen will be missing his days as a lone wolf. "Callen, who's spent his whole life looking for family, suddenly finds himself with family," Gemmill continued. "[He's] used to his privacy in his space, and it takes some getting used to ... having a family member living with him."

Episode 4 was supposed to be aired on Oct. 9, but the show is currently on a two-week break and will be back on Oct. 16.

The eighth season of "NCIS: LA" airs every Sunday night at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
