The NCIS: LA team finds clues all over the city when a navy machinist is found murdered on the roof of a downtown high-rise in the upcoming episode of CBS' hit procedural spinoff "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8.

Titled "Ghost Gun," next week's episode will feature the team uncover clues scattered all over Los Angeles after a navy machinist's death. According to the official synopsis for episode 5, a navy machinist's murder with high-security clearance leads the team to embark on a city-wide hunt as they follow clues and pieces of evidence. Meanwhile, Anna Kolcheck (Bar Paly) teams up with Callen (Chris O'Donnell), and Sam (LL Cool J) assists Hetty (Linda Hunt) in the on-going mole investigation.

In the previous episode, Kensi (Daniela Ruah) finally showed a few signs of life as she repeatedly squeezed Hetty's hand while still remaining in coma. It remains to be seen, however, if this recent development will continue. Despite Hetty's optimism about Kensi's recovery, Granger (Miguel Ferrer) felt less hopeful about Kensi's condition as he begins screening potential replacements for the agent. Meanwhile, Nell (Renee Felice Smith) teamed up with Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) as they both took down this week's bad guy.

Hetty previously sacrificed herself for the rest of the team and even gave Duggan a signed confession admitting that she's the mole. However, it turned out to be a temporary solution to the problem and the investigation to find the mole continues. Speaking with TV Guide, showrunner Scott Gemmill hinted that the probe will have an unexpected outcome. "Our people only have so much time before it will be revisited. ... [They] will be given a little more time to resolve this," he explained, "and they ultimately will by the end of the season - but with some catastrophic results."

The eighth season of "NCIS: Los Angeles" airs every Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
