Hit procedural spinoff series "NCIS: Los Angeles" will soon premiere its eighth season in the Fall, and executive producer John Peter Kousakis promises new and exciting episodes up ahead for fans. The EP mentioned on his Twitter page that they will begin working on the new season early in July, assuring fans that they will be rewarded for their "loyalty and patience" when the show returns on CBS.

In terms of the storyline, spoiler reports say that G. Callen (Chris O'Donnell) will continue his quest to find out more about his identity and lineage. Now that he already discovered his first name and that he is a son of a KGB Major named Nikita Alexsandr Reznikov, he will surely dig deeper to know more about himself. The previous season saw him determined to discover what really happened when he left Romania, and as it turned out, Hetty (Linda Hunt) had the key to unlocking the truth. She was hesitant to tell Callen because she still felt remorse about what happened to his mother Clara Callen, who is a former CIA agent.

On another note, new showrunner Scott Gemmill previously teased that  Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) might finally propose to Kensi (Daniela Ruah). After the couple decided to move in together in season 7, the next step for them will probably be marriage. "We will not see, I don't think, a proper proposal until next season, because we have an idea for how to do that that I want to play out," Gemmill discussed. "I already know how we're going to do it. It's just, the fans have waited long enough that we want it to be worth the wait." If the two ever get married within the season, it remains to be seen if they will plan on having kids anytime soon since they are both busy with their respective careers.

Catch the season 8 premiere of "NCIS: LA" on Oct. 2, Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
