An NBC News correspondent has apologized for reportedly violating her quarantine requirements for Ebola after a co-worker came down with the infectious disease.

NBC medical correspondent Dr. Nancy Snyderman apologized for reportedly violating her 21-day quarantine orders after multiple media reports said she was spotted in public, including at a New Jersey restaurant ordering soup.

"While under voluntary quarantine guidelines, which called for our team to avoid public contact for 21 days, members of our group violated those guidelines and understand that our quarantine is now mandatory until 21 days have passed. We remain healthy and our temperatures are normal," Snyderman said in a statement.

"As a health professional I know that we have no symptoms and pose no risk to the public, but I am deeply sorry for the concerns this episode caused. We are thrilled that Ashoka is getting better and our thoughts continue to be with the thousands affected by Ebola whose stories we all went to cover."

Snyderman and other NBC workers were put under quarantine after the network's freelance journalist, Ashoka Mukpo, was infected with the virus while working in Monrovia, Liberia. He is undergoing treatment in Omaha, Nebraska.

This week, Mukpo tweeted that he was on the road to good health.

"Back on twitter, feeling like I'm on the road to good health. Will be posting some thoughts this week. Endless gratitude for the good vibes," he wrote.

"Now that I've had first hand exp [sic] with this scourge of a disease, I'm even more pained at how little care sick west Africans are receiving," he continued. "Be on the lookout for the Ebola Diaries blog coming soon. Will compile material from long-term reporter residents of Liberia."
