'NBA 2k17' release date news update: Kobe Bryant tribute included in video game

After the NBA superstar Kobe Bryant has announced his retirement and played his final basketball game in the league against Utah Jazz last April 13, it can be expected that his exit from the world that has adored him so much will pay a special tribute. The tribute of the sports world to his astonishing 20-year journey in professional basketball can come in many ways. As an example, 2k Sports is jumping on the bandwagon to give Bryant the most memorable tribute anyone could ever give. It is reported that the sports-oriented video game studio will make Bryant the cover of their latest NBA game, the "NBA 2k17" Legend Edition.

The Yibada news website has reported the latest NBA 2k video game is already available as of writing through pre-orders on several digital markets and online sellers. GameStop has listed the standard retail price of "NBA 2k17" Legend Edition at $79.99.

Those players who will be among the first few who have pre-ordered the game are going to have their own copy of "NBA 2k17" Legend Edition and more additional in-game bonus items during the game's official release date. Yibada reported the game's release to be around in September, although Amazon and GameStop have listed the release date by December.

The game is also revealed to include three physical items that were made in the likeness of a Black Mamba controller skin, a high quality and limited edition poster of Kobe Bryant, and the additional two Panini Kobe Bryant trading cards, according to a report from Mobi Picker.

The digital content of "NBA 2k17" Legend Edition is also promising as it is expected that the gamers could acquire up to 30,000 Virtual Currency and a MyTeam Bundle that includes three packs that for sure will include a Kobe Hoodie, a Kobe Bryant Free Agent card, plus more Black Mamba freebies.

Meanwhile, 2K Sports will also release the standard version of "NBA 2k17" in September which can be purchased by the players for $59.99. Both "NBA 2k17 Legend Edition" and "NBA 2k17" regular video game will be launched on Microsoft Windows PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
